Paws in the Park is a free event Saturday, April 1st, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Pineville Lake Park, 1000 Johnston Drive, Pineville.
This is a free, family-friendly event, and will be held rain or shine.
The event is brought to you by Charlotte Black Dogs, and highlights dogs up for adoption, especially black dogs, which are less likely to be adopted.

The event features:
- Food trucks
- Vendors
- Dog contests
- Circus Stella
- Music by Chairmen of the Board
Circus Stella features human and canine circus performances.
The dog contests take place at noon, and the winners can receive trophies and cash prizes:
- Smallest dog (1 year old and up)
- Largest dog (measured around the waist)
- Best dog trick
- Best dressed female
- Best dressed male
- Best themed group (min of 2 dogs, and max of 5 dogs per group)
Schedule:
- 10 a.m.: Event opens w/ DJ on stage
- 11 a.m., 12:30 p.m. & 2:30 p.m.: Circus Stella Performs
- 11:30 a.m.: Blessing of the Animals
- 12 p.m.: Dog Contest
- 1 to 3 p.m.: Chairmen of the Board
